Not to kvetch, but Adobe does not call it a "nudge." If you look in the FrameMaker 7.0 manual, they use the term "nudging" with respect to making rearrangements in the element hierarchy of structured documents (p. 522 in my copy).

On page 240 of Adobe's manual, they talk about "To move an object in small increments" and explain the Alt/Option/Ctrl key usage.

In "FrameMaker 7: The Complete Reference" by Sarah O'Keefe and Sheila Loring, looking in the index for "nudge" turns up "nudging graphic objects," which takes you to page 55, where Tool Bar 3 of the Quick Access bar is explored. The description of the function of some of the buttons there uses the term "Nudges the elected object...." and follows with "Equivalent to ALT-<some arrow>".

The Adobe manual does not seem to provide much more about the separate tool bars of the Quick Access bar, but hovering over one of the buttons in question causes "Move Up" (etc)
to be displayed.

It may be accepted terminology in the world of Word, but apparently Adobe has not embraced the term.

This "tuning" positioning can be SO handy.

Just as a matter of terminology, since we care about such things: It is, in
fact, called a "nudge."

(Knowing the term makes it that much easier to use the on-line help ... :)

Cheers ... Kim
Also a "nudge," although in my case, it's pronounced "nooj" :>
