Robert..if it wasn't that you write better than I, I'd have sworn that I
wrote your reply...especially when I got to the part:

* One enormous table could hold all of the differences in presentation, with
the addition, deletion, resorting, or transposition of columns.


I have two master tables, one for each system. Once is about 5500 rows by 20
columns and one is about 600 rows by 12 columns.

For each table in the documentation, I use Autofilter buttons to produce a
subset of rows, then hide columns to eliminate columns I don't need. What's
left, I sort, copy to clipboard, Special paste, and convert to table (I'm
using Frame).

The table-bit works great, doesn't it?
