Exactly. I accept that right now, it would be a dog with no teeth. However,
part of what STC also needs to do is make it worth something. That's where
in another email, I included that STC needs an outreach program to explain
what it is we do.

It might be argued that professional certification would raise the
profile of the field. I've seen the professional association for
accountants conduct a campaign to promote both that profession and
certification. Perhaps tech writers would do the same.
