Doug Dupless is is working with a writer who doesn't seem to know how to write. His manager thinks technical writers just "pretty up" things. (His words.) Help and advice are sought.
-----------------------------------------------------
Based on a few years in the contractor trenches, I'll toss in a nickel's worth of free advice.

The first thing that comes to mind is: MYOB (Mind Your Own Business). Has your manager tasked you with editing and proofing Bozo's work? If not, don't do it!

One of the best things about being a contractor is lack of involvement in office politics. Enjoy that "benny" and just do your job as specified in the contract.

If your manager is too obtuse to notice the differences in your work, or doesn't care, customers or upper management will eventually bring it to his/her attention. An objective comparison of your work and Bozo's can only be beneficial to you.
