Subject:Word Meta Data And PDF Question From:"John Fleming" <johntwrl -at- hotmail -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 01 May 2003 01:00:16 +0000
I had a question tossed my way today and it has to do with the meta data
that gets inserted into a file created in a Microsoft Office application.
In this particular case, we were talking about the ones created in Word.
This meta data includes the information that gets displayed when we click on
File --> Properties, and any other content that Word uses to track revisions
and revision history.
The question involved the amount of Word meta data that gets transferred
from a Word file to a PDF file when the Word file is used as the source for
a PDF file.
The questioner expressed concern specifically with meta data used to track
revision history.
Question. How much, if any, of Word's meta data gets transfered to the PDF
version of a Word file when the PDF file is created?
My own understanding is that not much is transferred, but I want to make
sure my answer is 100% correct.
Anybody here know the answer? Or know where I could find it?
Thanks
