It would be useful to know why they want this. If they want to know what a
page said on a certain day then perhaps in future it would be better to save
a copy of the page before it is changed.
What format you save it in is
another issue for discussion. Also how you store these copies (eg in date
order or alpha order by title is another issue).

Depending on the
circumstances in your organisation I may call in your knowledge
management/documentation retention experts to help me. There may be
organisational wide standards for archived information.

With a copy of pages before they were changed it would be possible to just
compare the versions to identify the actual change IF and WHEN someone
*really* needs to know what has changed.
