You don't say what platform and OS you're on. If you're on some flavor of
Windows, try PowerDesk (www.OnTrack.com). It's very flexible and
feature-rich. It has full ZIP support and view/extract support for about any
other kind of archive (ARC, GZ, TAR, etc.
You can view the contents of a ZIP file as if it were a directory,
copy/paste, drag/drop, select using a filespec (e.g., *.backup.*), etc.
Context menu commands make it easy to create new ZIP files, delete selected
files from a ZIP, or extract selected files.
WinXP's Explorer also lets you treat ZIP files like directories. But it
still doesn't have what I consider an essential feature in a file manager --
a dual-pane view!
