It may seem wierd to some, but I know exactly what he's
talking about. I have actually been in meetings where a
(non-technical) executive decided NOT to hire a consultant
after sitting through a presentation in which the expert
making the pitch brilliantly reduced a highly complex issue
down to fairly simple terms, because - and this is as direct
a quote as I can remember - "it doesn't sound complicated
enough to me that we should need outside help with it."
Making the complex seem simple may be the bread and butter
of a technical manual, but it can indeed be the kiss of
death to a business proposal.

I understand it, but I disagree with it. This type of decision-making
and the communication it breeds is not good for the economy.
