I had presented a similar case in one of my previous organizations. In
addition to the ideas that you got from others, you can add some positive
comments that you got from your customers (internal and external). If you
have not collected any feedback till now, this is the right time to do
it. Ask the users how they feel about the documentation assistance that
you gave them. If you can get comments on how your work has changed the
way your customers work or how your customers feel after having user
assistance in place, it will strengthen your case for having more
technical writers in your company to cater to all your products and
development teams. Cite some examples of such testimonies of technical
writers in other organisations as well. You can also research and prepare
a plan on how technical writers can add value to the different phases of
the development model that the organization follows.
