Go to Control Panel, select Services, scroll down to the "Messenger" entry,
right-click on Messenger, choose Properties, and then disable that service.

All:

I'm using Windows XP Professional Edition, and every 5 minutes stupid
messages popup from the Windows Messenger. I've removed the Messenger
components from Windows, deleted the files from the Program and Registry
files, yet I'm still getting these dumb messages.

HOW can I get rid of this for good...
