Personally, I think the .pdf format is a great way to transport a printable
file to someone who needs or wants it. And for those who want to read on
screen, there's online help.

Both formats can be generated using the same source file (e.g. JavaHelp and
Acrobat via Frame), if that source file is properly written and
cross-referenced.
