TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
The only things I have heard against XXE (which, I agree, is a very cool
tool) are that:
* It does not handle entities well (at all?).
* It does not handle long documents well (>20 pages).
The second is not a big deal-you can just chunk your XML smaller. And the
first may no longer be a problem-I haven't used XXE for a few months, so
maybe things have changed.
Good luck with it, and please let me know how you fare with it-I'm curious.
Has anyone used XMLmind Editor recently?
I'm about to launch into an Open Source
project and am just getting friendly with
this tool -- which looks fairly cool.
Any bugaboos? Any surprises? Hidden gems?
<< Forgive me Andrew for asking about a
tool AND referencing XML as well as Open
Source in a single post. =-] >>
Thanks a million!
