I met the nice folks at Cherryleaf. They are probably
talking about AuthotIT, which is quite a flexible tool
(I didn't follow your link).

To my knowledge, nobody else is doing help from a db
AuthorIT's price point, you should check it out. Other
than that, you can go as far as Miramo on FrameMaker .
. . and up to doing your own cusom Oracle and XML
thing. <g>

I prefer to single source without a db; checkout
WebWorks Publisher.
