If you want to replace a period followed by a single space, one
option is a double pass.
Using REPLACE, on the first pass, replace every period followed
by a space with a period followed by two spaces.
Because this will convert any existing period followed by two
spaces into a period followed by three spaces, the second pass is
necessary to convert replace these with a period followed by two
spaces.
