Here is the context:

When you add a document in the server, it is indexed. Therefore, you can find
it when you perform searches. When you delete the document from the server,
you want to "deindex" it, delete the references to it in the server's indexes,
so that it will not be returned when you perform searches.


You could say, 'When you delete a document, both the document and all index
references to it are removed."
