I do not understand what you mean by "the multiple responses." How do
responses determine the intent of the poster?

WIth such a short message as mine was, one takes into account the subject
heading and the body text in determining intent. I was fishing for real
interest in reading about particular subjects. I knew I was risking humorous
responses, but I believed at least some would take into account the entire
post.
