The more experience I get, the more I realize that
no one's experience covers all circumstances.

It's not even true that nothing can be gained
by complaining. Once when I complained about my
boss and I threatened to quit, they offered to
fire my boss. (Not that I accepted the offer;
I quit anyway.)

But logically, the idea that each of us controls
his own circumstances does seem impossible. After
all, if everyone else's behavior is determined by
my own attitude, then similarly mine would have to
be determined by each of theirs. We can't all
have control over everybody else all at once.
Influence, maybe. Control, impossible.
