Generally, I agree with Bonnie--except that in a multi-user environment, I think a tasteful line such as "You are logged in as user Joan Smith" should be enough. I don't much care for the "cutesy" approach in an otherwise-serious application.

However, the concern over administrative logins is a very valid one, IMHO. In fact, for someone who logs in as an administrator (or "root" in UNIX-speak), I'd seriously consider changing the window decoration to red or some other obvious color, perhaps with the line being: "You are logged in as administrator Joan Smith." In other words, the interface could be easily designed to inform the user that administrative privileges should be restricted to necessary sessions, otherwise a user login should be used.

As for the comma after "Hello"--I think that is optional in this use today.
