Whoops, I may not have been clear -- they couldn't *print* the document. We did the distillation with 5, mailed it to the client, and were told that it didn't print correctly.

Yes, I experienced a similar problem. I installed 6.0 (which installs the new
distiller automatically) but was unable to pdf any documents. The error message
was that it could not locate the distiller, though I could see the 
distiller present.
My manager couldn't fix it, so I un-installed it fearing I'd get stuck if I 
had to
get something out quickly.
