Damien,

You want to be clear, as early in the process as you can, what they mean by "editor." If they are looking for a copy editor, you are going to approach the interview differently than if they are looking for an executive editor. In other words, you don't want to come across as being so focused on the commas that gross misstatements of fact escape your notice; but at the same time you don't want to start telling the interviewer about how you are going to direct authors to take a new approach to their subjects or how you are going to recruit authors for a new series of books you envision, if all they want is someone to redact mss. for the printer.
