Thanks for the reminder, Paul. I got Mr. Tufte's first three books
after attending his seminar years ago. I was enthused but my supervisor
let me know that he was "out of his mind." Well, she's not here any more,
so I'll make bold to use his good advice, and maybe even cite him.

I haven't actually laid hands on books 4 and 5, but I suspect they contain the same no-nonsense approach and real world mis-examples that instruct so powerfully in the first three books.

A quick Tufte google will turn up all manner of opinions about him, his books along with examples of his writing. His most famous mis-example is probably the Challenger/O-Ring analysis.
