This doesn't surprise me, given America's past history in fighting the Civil
War in part over slavery.

I'm willing to bet, though, that some people are rolling their eyes at this
one.

After all, more than a few microprocessors that have been developed over the
years can be configured to run in either Master or Slave Mode, including a
chip I'm documenting at the moment. :D

The morons have struck again in L.A., to be sure.../

In the past, this list has debated the use of some standard computer
terminology. For example, "execute" and "abort" have both been questioned.

For those with fond (and not so fond) memories of these discussions,
this just in: the County of Los Angeles is asking hardware vendors not
to use "master" and "slave" in their documentation:

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/master.asp

As you can see, it's certified as True on Snopes.
