Far more irritating than poorly written/translated documents is the computerindustry's incessant stupidity of thinking web help is of any use what-so-ever at the moment you would actually need the help.

I hear ya brother.

In fact, I was once asked to put installation instructions in the online help for an application. All fine and dandy, but really the only way to access the help was from the installed application (long story not worth getting into, just trust me on the difficulty our users would have had of this). The person who wanted me to put the installation instructions in the online help could not (or maybe would not) understand that the only way to view the installation instructions would be after the application was installed, thus making the instructions useless. I had to demonstrate the problem, and even after that he was still hesitant to change his mind........All of this in spite of the fact that we had printed installation and setup guide.
