I live in Long Beach. If the prevailing remuneration is in the $30K/year
range, I do not see how anyone can afford to live here when housing prices
range from $450,000 to $850,000+. At $15.00/hour, I would rather change oil
at the local Pep Boys. -My $0.02-

is that if experience programmers are getting $45K, does that put TWs in the
$30 - $35K range?

Ron, your $30K for TW experience is in the right price range. Here's one
that came through yesterday for Southern California from a major aerospace
employer. You will note that technical writing experience is only one of a
list of prerequisites for this position.
