Unlike Word, in Frame the book file concept actually *works*. When I was at Nortel, we had Frame books that ran into four to five volumes, each one containing a maximum of 1200 pages.

A single file of 500 pages becomes an unwieldy one from the memory management standpoint. I believe the problem to which you allude is due to your machine limitations rather than anything inherent in Frame.
