I don't disagree with your grist here, but I do want to add one more
group of keyboard users. Those of us who use the keyboard by choice, if
for no other reason than it lets us do our jobs faster and more
efficiently.
Let's face it. It takes time to move that mouse pointer around the
screen.
Many years ago, I attended a computer course and the instructor put
things this way. The advantage of the mouse is that it has a
comparatively short learning curve. It takes longer to learn the
keystrokes. Once you know the keystrokes, though, speed leaves the
mouse users in the dust.
