I don't think much of the idea that economics can or should be "wertfrei" or
positivist. Economics isn't about inanimate objects, it's about human action
and interaction. Even if you're dealing with the descriptive, not
prescriptive, side of economics, you work from assumptions based on your
values.

I'd argue that capitalist economists tend to value human nature as it is,
while socialists generally  would like to shape human nature into something
rather different that they value more.

Perhaps you disagree. ;-)
