Be careful with this. Entering a width or a height attribute as a percentage
does *not* do what most people would expect: scale to image to a percentage
of the original. Rather, it scales to "a percentage of the available
horizontal or vertical space" according to the W3C HTML 4.01 recommendation.

I've seen information that suggests some browsers don't even recognize a
percentage value in these attributes. When I've shrunk images for HTML, I've
found the pixel values and done calculations to come up with pixel values
for these attributes in the HTML.



I second that. IE 6 _only_ recognizes pixel values for this. Specify as width="140px" height="92px" for example. Always specify both dimensions if you specify one.
