It's not a question of blame, hiding or lying, but one of
focus. Interviewing for a position is a sales call. Your
objective should be to keep the discussion entirely
positive and entirely about you and the company you're
interviewing with. Any time spent on reasons why other
people chose not to buy is time not spent on reasons why
the person you're talking to should buy. Also, it's a
rare person who can discuss their previous company that
laid them off - regardless of the reason - without
revealing the slightest trace of negativity regarding
the experience, so it's best to just avoid going there
at all if you can, and if you must to touch on it as
briefly and generically as possible and then move the
discussion back to closing that sale.
