You were laid off (or have been told that you soon will
be). Anyone who hasn't been living on Jupiter the past
three or four years will know enough people in the
same boat that they probably won't ask for details.
Unless you have the misfortune to get stuck with one of
those people who enjoy making other people squirm, most
interviewers are as uncomfortable with the subject of
unemployment as anyone else you encounter when you're
not working.
