Being left alone to do you job is different than getting the job. What
do you care about the "vision" thing. Just get the job.

I work in the city...have for the last two years, and just outside the
city for 2+ years before that. Yes, they still let you "just do your
job", as long as you don't include collaborating with your peers as NOT
being "left alone"..

My current job, some days I may not speak with my manager all day except
for Good Morning and Good Night...of course, it's always him saying it
to me in the morning on his way in and him saying it to me at night on
his way out.

BTW...I'm at this 5 years longer than you and I still look forward to
getting to my desk in the morning.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that, with outsourcing and
everything, the turkey may be done. Should I just pack it in and open a
hotdog stand? Or are there some jobs out there in which you are 'left
alone' to create a decent product?
