Felice,

Sounds like the hiring authority either did not know what they were
looking for or they, not you, made a mistake. I would explain the
situation to someone with whom you can speak freely, i.e., "I think
there's been a misunderstanding..."

The average tech writer cannot learn comprehensive DBA skills on the job.
I've been installing, migrating, configuring Oracle for ten years, and I'm
no DBA.
