Hello techwr-lers,

I've recently been assigned the project of
single-sourcing an online help system from the
structured Frame setup I've already put into place.
We want to use JavaHelp for the help format.

The twist is, due to my company's financial situation,
we're unable to afford a professional help creation
package such as WebWorks Publisher or Robohelp.
However, I can single-source from the XML I can
produce Framemaker, am skilled at writing XSL, and can
even write a little simple Java code in a pinch.

So the question is, can we and should we attempt to
develop a JavaHelp system from scratch? What would be
our main challenges if we decide to go this route
(which I would consider to be the most fun option)? If
not, has anyone has any experience with any
open-source javahelp creation packages, such as
aurigadoc(http://aurigadoc.sourceforge.net/) or
others?

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me.

Tanya
