I have to admit to 1) enjoying reading this today, although I am also enjoying reading http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/index.html. 2) I am distractible, have always been a consultant who wears many hats and has never been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. 3) It's never even crossed my mind that I have ADD, and 4) I have trouble with authority figures, passive aggressiveness and defensiveness in others (is there a disease for that?) I did 5) tell my husband that he must have ADD because everything everyone said today sounds like him, but he glared at me and told me I was nuts. He is a computer genius.

Tom's post mirrored my feelings so I felt compelled to respond. I never lurk for this long, it just ain't in my nature.

In reading these shared experiences with ADD/ADHD, I can only say that I have had these same issues such as, lots of paperwork, time management, concentration and missed details but I don't think I need to be diagnosed with some sort of mental condition that qualifies me for some new drugs. I do believe in "better living through chemistry" but I also believe that just a little more discipline on my part will help get my job more organized. I am probably minimizing someone's truly bonifide condition and for that I apologize, but I just don't see how lack of concentration can be a medical condition.
Now, you may ignaite the flames.
