There is a New Zealand chapter of STC. You can look it up on the stc.org site.

And there are plans for new classes of membership; you can read more in a PDF at http://www.stc.org/transformation/newsLetter1.pdf.

Otherwise, yeah, you are a ways out .... Maybe, start your own and
affiliate with a U.S. chapter (like the Connecticut Chapter)?
