Oddly enough, I saw a job ad tonight that said the company wanted STC
membership. I applied for the job. I have never seen such an ad before:
"Six years or greater experience as a Technical Writer.  Preference is
for direct experience with a commercial software company.  Advanced user
of Word for Windows, RoboHelp software(WinHelp, HTML Help, and WebHelp
formats), and ability to code HTML(used to create embedded and HTML
help).  Experience documenting development language or application
program interface desirable.  Membership in professional organization
desirable; (STC) Society for Technical Communication."
