Perhaps it's not too late. After a respectable period of time (I guess
depending on how long the contract is), you should approach them, remind
them that the rate you are currently getting is significantly less than the
rate initially discussed, and ask them to re-evaluate the rate, based on
your performance thus far. John is right - $1000 a month is significant (and
he was using 4 weeks in a month instead of the usual 4.3, which would have
resulted in a loss of $1,204).

It's worth starting the discussion IMO.
