We did this at a former employer of mine, although the
documentation was soley internal. Each publication had
an author/editor, and not only did he get credit,
those employees who made substantial contributions to
the publication received credit, too (e.g., SMEs or
employees who took the time to review the publication
or point out errors/additions).
Editorial credits isn't really a big deal, but it
means a lot to people to see their name in print.
