...great advice all round. I'd add: only deal with printers who will accept
(gladly) pdf files for printing. That way the file you get your people to
sign off on is the file that goes directly for printing. This is especially
critical if you do your manuals in (choke) MS Word. If so, this route will
help save (choose one or more): your hair, your sanity, your job, your
marriage.... If you don't use MS Word, this route will still save you loads
of potential trouble.
