INT. MORNING. A COFFEE-SPATTERED CRT MONITOR, A FEW PIXELS MISSING, THE IMAGE A
LITTLE WARPED AT THE EDGES. PAN TO USER, A MIDDLE-AGED MAN IN A BUSINESS SUIT
SITTING WITH FACE IN HANDS, SOBBING HEAVILY.

USER
My God! What happened? It was right there. I had it right there! The whole damn
presentation. And now it's gone. It's over. My life is finished. I'll never get
it back in time. (SCREAMING) I hate you! I hate you! Give me back my file,
goddamnit!

USER REACHES FOR SOMETHING TO THROW AT THE SCREEN AND FINDS A HEAVY BOOK WHICH
HE HURLS AT THE MONITOR. IT BOUNCES OFF THE SCREEN AND LANDS OPEN ON THE
KEYBOARD.

USER
Take THAT you bastards!

USER LOWERS HIS HEAD AGAIN AND HIS BODY STIFFENS AS HIS GAZE FALLS ON THE OPEN
PAGES OF THE BOOK.

USER
What the ... (READING FROM BOOK) "You can recover a previous version of a
document after a power failure or similar problem ... Click Open"

USER REACHES FOR THE MOUSE AND BEGINS CLICKING

USER

"In the Files of Type box, click All Files." Yes. Yes. Please God, let it be
there! "Locate and then double-click the backup copy to open it."

EXT. MORNING. WALL STREET. USER IS RUNNING THROUGH THE STREETS LAUGHING AND
DANCING. HE GRABS BAG LADY BY THE SHOULDERS AND KISSES HER ON THE LIPS. CROWDS
OF OFFICE WORKERS STOP AND STARE.
