With everybody singing the praises of pictorial instructions, I feel
compelled to say that in fact they DON'T work best for everybody. I
have low vision, and although that doesn't keep me from seeing images,
it has given me a bias towards verbal communication. For me, explicit
verbal instructions have always been easier to deal with.

Interesting... It seems that procedure and even thoughts MUST be
connected with words in some way. One may be able to better ~show~
procedure using a flowchart or other "visual" medium. But I don't think
that procedure "defies" written description. It can't. Denying the
viability of words is intellectually dishonest. It's like saying there
are no absolutes.
