I don't think it's meant as a joke... Personally, if I was going to get all
het up about something, it would be adjectives used as adverbs ("Are You Too
Busy to Eat Healthy?") and general misuse of adverbs, especially in
marketing.
I do try to do my little part to keep bad usage from happening in the first
place. I'm currently waging battle against the byline "capture valuable data
and turn it into actionable information" for one of the products I write
about. Is "actionable" the new vogue word? My sources still say it means
"giving cause for legal action", which is hardly what we expect the product
to do (but maybe marketing knows something we don't!)
