And don't exclude yourself from "good management". One of the biggest
mistakes writers make is to not take control over their own
environment in order to facilitate getting their jobs done in a manner
that ensures quality, fosters teamwork, and illustrates real delivered
value and returned value. Sometimes you may be pushed back no matter
what you try, but it's extremely important to have as much command
over your area of involvement as possible. This goes for any role in
any multi-role project.
