Lisa Bronson asked:
I am researching content management (and XML) as a solution to some of our
company's challenges, including translation, common text, and production
of parts books. My manager is very receptive to this idea, but since we
will have to justify it to higher levels, he wants to learn more about
what content management really is. I am just starting to learn about this
myself, so teaching him about it is tricky, to say the least.
If you know of any good resources for getting management-level information
about content management and XML (articles, Web sites, possibly books),
would you please let me know? Technical information for me is good, too,
but I'm primarily looking for stuff for him right now.
Thanks!
Lisa B.
Speaking for myself, the best resource I can recommend is Anne Rockley,
_Managing Enterprise Content_ published by New Riders. I think she
covers the subject well from a managerial perspective, up to the process
of selecting a product and vendor. She also devotes space to the role of
XML in CM.
The other print resource I know of is _The CMS Bible_, which I consider
more implementer/developer oriented.
