Thank you for the info on the DocTrain in Mass. I'm hoping for some
training a little sooner then October but if all else fails maybe that
will be the one.
For the answer to your first comment, they are including travel
expenses. I tried to get them to do the conference this month in Vegas
but they weren't keen on the location.

I guess the big question is whether or not you're able to include travel
expenses. If you are, there are lots of great conferences all over the
US of A. However, assuming that travel is not part of the offer, there
is a conference called "DocTrain" that takes place in northern Mass.
(Dracut or Chelmsford or something like that) every year in October-ish.
I attended 2 years ago, and I'd like to attend again if I can. There
were definitely some good sessions and, of course, some less-good
sessions, too. Considering it's so close to home, I would say you really
can't go wrong with it.
If I had to put my finger on a specific criticism when I say "less-good"
sessions, it would be that a few sessions made me feel like I was being
"missionized" to some new religion of single-sourcing or this program
vs. that. To balance off the criticism with a compliment, I can say that
there were also a number of more productive and useful sessions that
provided more of a conceptual, problem-solving approach while simply
presenting various options to achieve the goal without overly pushing
any particular option.
Their web site is www.doctrain.com. Although their site still contains
the information from the '04 conference, you can at least take a peek
and see what types of things they offer and whether it fits your needs.
Good luck... Who knows, maybe I'll see you there next year! : )
