Subject:New TECHWR-L Poll Question - VBA, Macros, etc. From:Lisa M. Bronson <lisa -at- techwr-l -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Sun, 20 Mar 2005 20:23:22 -0600
Hello everyone!
Many of you have talked about using Microsoft Word for technical
writing, and the wide array of things you do to make it "tick" the way
you want it to (so it doesn't tick you off quite so badly!). I haven't
used Word for tech writing in more than six years, and when I did,
didn't know all of those tricks. What sorts of things do you do, and
what do you do to do them? That question leads us to this week's poll:
Do you write or use MS Word add-ins, VBA macros, or both, for your
technical writing duties?
* I write add-ins using Visual Basic 6
* I write add-ins using another standalone product
* Write VBA code inside Word for use in my company
* Write VBA code inside Word for my own use only
* Create recorded macros for my own use
* Use commercial add-ins to Word (e.g. Doc-To-Help)
* Use add-ins or VBA code provided by colleagues
* I do not use add-ins or VBA for Word
* I do not use Word for technical writing
* Other/None of the above
