Emelda,

When you say that you "copy" the online files into the other directory, I'm assuming you mean that you do it from Windows Explorer. Looking at your directory structure, I can see that you're adding another folder to the path for the hardcopy documents, so Frame can't follow the same relative path to the graphics, which is why the links break. If you keep the relative path to the graphics the same, Frame should be able to follow the links after you copy the files.

The reason why Frame makes you specify the path to graphics more than once is because your graphics are in three different folders. If you tell it to look in pics1 for one graphic and the next one is in pics2, you have to tell Frame where pics2 is. Unfortunately, it then forgets where pics1 is, so you have to tell it again when it comes to a graphic that isn't in the pics2 folder.

Here's what could be a simple solution. Your current paths are as follows:
/home/doc/
/home/doc/hardcopy/
/home/doc/pics1/
/home/doc/pics2/
/home/doc/pics3/
The files in /home/doc/ look for the graphics using the path /picsX/filename. The files in /home/doc/hardcopy/ look for the same graphics using the path ../picsX/filename.

If you change that file structure to
/home/doc/online/
/home/doc/hardcopy/
/home/doc/pics1/
/home/doc/pics2/
/home/doc/pics3/
The relative paths from both the online and hardcopy folders to the graphics would be the same (../picsX/filename), so copying and pasting the files from one location to the other shouldn't result in broken links. When you move your online files to a folder like that, you'll have to relink everything, but the links should stay intact after that.

I hope that makes sense. Contact me offline if you need more information.
