Dan,
Like Dick, I have not used the WebEx recorder, but I do have extensive
experience using a directly competing product called Interwise to make
recordings.
Some of the things I noticed:
*Image resolution was crisp.
*Image capture was limited to a 640x480 pixel chunk of the display. This
required resizing application windows, or moving the recording area around
the displayed window (This type of "camera movement" can be very
disorienting to audiences if you do not plan the moves properly).
*Motion could appear jerky if you moved the pointer too quickly during
recording.
*Audio was okay (I never had a decent recording environment, so I can't
say if it was a failing of the software or the environment).
*File compression was impressive, but I kept all recordings under 10
minutes to give audiences a break and accomodate slower connections.
*Judged interaction was limited to True/False and Multiple guess
questions.
Thanks,
Dan Charles
