Uh, I think I am using positive voice.

I put the *reason* for the instruction first, and the instruction itself
last. I think this makes the instruction easier to scan; I'm scanning
for something that I need to do, I see it, I read the instruction, I
remember the last thing in the sentence.

I'd also guess that either way works.

Joe

In a message dated 5/16/05 1:33:57 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time,
jmalin -at- tuvox -dot- com writes:
To confirm your settings, click OK, or to exit the screen without
saving click Cancel.
Wouldn't it be better to write it as:

5. Click OK to confirm your settings. Click CANCEL to exit without
saving your settings.

This would be giving instructions that are clear. (Positive voice).

Harry
