Sorry if this is a dupe...trouble posting

Hello Renee,

To answer your question about what to do with content that *might* be
translated...

What many companies have opted to do is to write their English documentation
as they wish...not having translation costs in mind. This allows more
freedom when authoring the English content as well as the ability to focus
on the message and not the cost of translating the content *if* it ever
makes it there. There is a method out there that is used by a certain
translation company (trying very hard not to make this an ad) that takes
your English source content and optimizes it for translation. There is a
cost involved to implement it...sort of. I say "sort of" because the cost
is immediately returned through the savings in your translation costs that
you incur by implementing the method, most times it is able to drop the cost
of translation below what it would be without implementing it. It is
becoming a very popular way of doing things for companies that are not
immediately sure if the content they are authoring will eventually be
translated or not.

Try taking a look at the article posted on the TECHWR-L site:
"Volumizing...Good for Hair, Bad for Content"

IHTH...Contact me off-list if you have questions.
